| South African Full Blood and Percentage Boers Goats |
|
We have been members of all of the Boer Goat Associations and presently concentrate our efforts through the American Boer Goat Association. We breed South African fullbloods and percentage meat goats. Located in the “Heart” of Texas, (see map for directions), we breed, show and sell quality full blood and percentage Boer goats. We are not one of the large herd producers, although they have their place in the Boer goat industry, we are a smaller breeder that believes in striving for genetics that are a little more unique and specialized. Our breeding program philosophy is to strive to be one of the leaders in creating 21st century meaty animals with lots of length, mass, and muscle from the front neck and chest area through out the body back to the hid quarters in the back . Using "selective sires" with our does we plan on developing some of the best genetics available in the industry to start our process. We exercise a constant and consistent feeding program by means of a supplemental automated feeding system 2 to 3 times a day of grain which is augmented by hay, nutrients and mineral blocks. We believe the best development comes from a multiple feeding program rather than a diet that relies on any single feeding process. Each and every animal receives our special care and grooming on a regular basis. We utilize two different breeding programs. The first being that of a natural breeding process for the majority of our genetics and a second that includes occasional embryo transplants by use of flush programs and In-Vitro Fertilizations and A. I.'s as required. Pat and I would like to thank all those that have given us their time to train, educate and help us create our programs and a special thanks to all of our buyers and friends over the past years. * Parker-Boers was the first BOER goat breeder in the U.S. to utilize In-Vitro Fertizalition to recover and put together some of the best genetics that the Boer industry has seen. See article in our Special Announcement section and BOER GOAT magazine article in 2005 March/April issue , page 26-28. Thanks for visiting Parker Boers Dan and Pat Parker |
